Muhammad Farms

“The Farm is the Engine of our National Life.”

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad

Muhammad Farms is a 1556 acre farm in Southwest Georgia. It is managed by Dr. Ridgely Abdul Mu’min and his wife, Sis. Ann. This tract of land was redeemed by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in 1995 as part of a larger 4500 tract that was purchased in the 1960’s by The Honorable Elijah Muhammad. To grasp the size of this space it is as long as Central Park in NYC or the Mall in D.C. but 3 times as wide. Or just visualize 1400 football fields.

The farm is striving to raise sustainable food and fiber production. Some of the things they grow are wheat, watermelon, peanuts, eggplants, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet corn, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and spinach.

On the website there are links on how to set up a  buying club and/or co-op.

Muhammad Farms is a part of The Nation of Islam’s Ministry of Agriculture. On the that website you can get information for the various programs such as buying clubs, blogtalk radio, staple goods project, Annual Founder’s Day event, and Ministry of Agriculture conference.
