Why Grow That: Lemon Balm

  1. Attracts bees
  2. Easy to grow
  3. Smells great
  4. Perennial
  5. Makes a great beverage

It is said that lemon balm is good internally and externally. The uses that intrigued me were for calming and as a digestive aid. I am also drawn to any plant that makes a good beverage since I rarely buy flavored drinks for my children outside of herbs.

Tea:

1 cup boiling water over 5-6 fresh leaves or 1 tsp of dried leaves. Steep for 5-7 min. Strain. Sweeten if you desire.

*even better paired with mint.
**my daughter made iced lemon balm tea with a hint of lime (no sweetener) and it was so refreshing.
